Job Description:

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in managing the accounting functions to support business operations in Asia Pacific.
  • Ensure the accounts in regional headquarter is prepared in compliance with Worldwide Accounting Standards;
  • Assist in maintaining effective financial and operating controls to ensure integrity of reporting to head office in Montreal.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register for Asia Pacific (excluding Hong Kong/China) in ensuring:-
  • All additions and disposals are properly accounted in the Balance Sheet.
  • Compute monthly depreciation charge in accordance to its accounting policy.
  • Physical assets are accurately reported in the Balance Sheet.
  • Assist accountant in month-end closing for the regional headquarter, ensure the month-end close is performed in accurate and timely manner and also within the timeline of 3 days set by Corporate.
  • Maintain the fixed asset sub-records which support the cost, accumulated depreciation and depreciation expense.
  • On a monthly basis, perform the following activities in relation to the closing of books for the period:-
  • Review and record activities associated with the subsystem reports.
  • Record drop shipment sales activities based on information provided by Corp.
  • Record all inter-company activities between entities in Asia Pacific, and all other Future affiliates.
  • Reconcile designated accounts in the general ledgers on a timely basis.  Investigate and resolve reconciling items as appropriate.
  • Assist in the consolidation of monthly financial reporting packages(s).
  • Prepare designated schedules for the financial statement audit.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Minimum requirements: Diploma or Accounting certificates.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role (preferrably in GL) with a multinational company, with exposure to foreign currency transactions.

  • Solid accounting skills.
  • Knowledge of financial software applications, Excel spreadsheet, Access and/or work processing.
  • Ability to produce accurate work of value and committed to maintaining standards.

  • Ability to set work priorities, time management skills.
  • Well-organized individual that can take control of multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
