JOB SUMMARY
The Purchasing Executive supports the development of procurement strategies by monitoring inventory movement and reconciling supplies with established procedures. He/She also supports the overall contractor selection process by analysing proposals and draft contracts based on established supplier selection processes and criteria.
He/She should possess strong organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills. He/She is a conscientious and self-motivated individual who is able to manage work priorities and relationships with suppliers and other business units locally and regionally.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deploy organisation’s procurement activities based on established product specifications and customer needs
  • Gather data on potential sellers that fulfil procurement requirements
  • Source for relevant products and evaluate suitable prospective suppliers, origins and channels
  • Analyse draft proposal and/or procurement specifications to ensure alignment with procurement requirements
  • Generate list of preferred suppliers in accordance with organisation’s selection processes
  • Analyse list of suppliers based on prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine best suppliers’ bids
  • Support negotiation efforts with information on agreed contract terms and conditions with preferred suppliers
  • Test quality of products to ensure suitability for purpose in accordance with procurement requirements and quality assurance standards
  • Manage suppliers to ensure quality, pricing and delivery objectives are met
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate payment processes to suppliers
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned and required by the company
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics/Business Management,  or any related field
  • Possess 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate with all levels
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Good team player with strong leadership
  • Self-motivated and able to show responsibility in managing the team
  • Strong analytical mind and ability to plan for maximizing efficiency
